Our Future intentions

Although society is more inclusive than ever, here at Longhirst spirits, we feel we can do better!

The worry of whether your children will be treated fairly, or with compassion and understanding, is a worry all parents face at one time or another. But for parents of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, (SEND) this can be extremely overwhelming.

There still appears to be a lack of opportunity for young people with SEND nationally, and despite there being many educational avenues to explore, whether they are accessible or not is another question.

At Longhirst Spirits, it is our aim to develop our brand with our children in mind bringing them along on this journey with us. By being part of our small batch family run business they will develop the skills and independence they need for their successful transition into adulthood.

Although we are at the very beginning of our adventure, our long term future intention is to offer other SEND students in Northumberland the opportunity to come work and learn alongside us through possible work placements and/or internships.
